Between Justice and the Crowd's Roar #580
Between Justice and the Crowd's Roar
In ancient courts where echoes speak,
A tale unfolds, both grim and bleak.
Not of kings or wars waged wide,
But a trial, where truth and mob collide.
Pilate stands, power cloaked, yet frail,
Against the storm, his justice seems to pale.
“I find no fault,” his voice, a faint decree,
Yet round him swells the crowd’s harsh sea.
In quiet chambers where dreams do pry,
Pilate’s wife, with a troubled sigh,
Sends forth a warning, soft and stark,
“Beware,” she whispers, “of what embarks.”
Her words, a beacon in tumult’s night,
A lone truth amidst the appetite for spite.
A plea for conscience in the clamor’s midst,
Where truth’s soft whisper easily is missed.
Pilate ponders, amidst the roar,
“What is truth?” seeking more.
A question sailing through time’s vast sea,
Where justice and popularity cease to agree.
This ancient story, whispers still,
Across the ages, against our will.
A dance between what’s right and fame,
Reflecting on the choices we claim.
As we tread paths both old and new,
Where many voices clamor for our view,
May we seek what’s just and true,
Not swayed by crowds, but a moral view.
In the balance of justice and acclaim,
Lies our essence, our very name.
May integrity guide our way,
Leaving footprints of truth in our stay.
