Whispers of Power in the Neo-Feudal Shadows #1181

Whispers of Power in the Neo-Feudal Shadows In the age of Neo-feudalism, where governance is a lush tapestry woven by the rich, for the opulence of corporations, the narrative unfolds. Behold the equestrian classes, a modern aristocracy clutching 93 percent of wealth, a scant 20 percent of the populace. These privileged few, orchestrators of Congress, selectors of Presidents—masters in the shadowed ballet of power. They hold reign over the vast empires of media, pen the scripts of law and lore, command the hallowed halls of academia. They are the benevolent dictators of philanthropy, the unseen hands guiding policy, the magnates of entertainment and sports arenas—architects of a society divided. In this meticulously crafted dominion, corporations draft their own charters of survival, meticulously erasing true competition. Their fingerprints stain laws ensuring profits safeguarded by government's embrace. Rarely touched by the cold hand of justice, these titans face fines that barely graze their armored hulls, never enough to halt their relentless march. We reside now in a realm of dual edicts—a glaring dichotomy of governance. One set of laws for the shielded echelons of government and their corporate allies, another for the rest, the bystanders in this grand play. Thus, whispers the age-old adage, reborn in the shadows of modern towers: money breeds money, joy found only in the vaults of the few. Written by Steven G. Lee (May 4, 2024)
