Evolving Sanctity: Redefining the True Church in Modern Times* #1182
Evolving Sanctity: Redefining the True Church in Modern Times
Once, in the steadfast shadows of Calvin’s days,
Doctrine was king, and fierce debates would blaze.
Churches marked by strict theological lines,
Purity judged by adherence to divine signs.
Now the discourse has shifted, expanded in scope,
Beyond ancient rifts, through a broader lens we hope.
Not merely doctrine, but ethics lead the fray,
Testing the truth of the church in a modern way.
Leadership's morality, a beacon or a curse,
Reveals the church’s heart, for better or worse.
Community roles, a reflection of their creed,
In acts of service, their authenticity is freed.
Transparency now demanded in every sphere,
Accountability held close, as the faithful draw near.
A church’s growth, its motive and its means,
Scrutinized for the truth that behind expansion leans.
And theology, that old yet evolving lore,
Must speak to today, not just to the days of yore.
Interpreting teachings with relevance anew,
Addressing moral quandaries, guiding what to pursue.
In this richer landscape of faith and deeds,
A true church aligns with Christ’s words and leads.
Justice, mercy, humility—these stones to lay
A foundation firm in faith, not just in what we say.
