Throne of Grace #1233
Throne of Grace
We approach the throne,
brimming with confidence, hearts poised,
to receive mercy and find grace,
an unwavering fountain in our wilderness.
These gifts flow endlessly through Jesus Christ,
where lovingkindness cannot falter,
and compassion never ceases.
No law reigns over us here,
for grace bears the weight of our burdens,
unfettered by rules that seek to bind
the soul to hopelessness.
In mercy and grace, we rise
above sin that would claim dominion.
It seeks to be master,
but the Spirit of truth whispers,
reminds us that grace abounds.
So what then, do we say,
are we to be complicit,
to deepen our darkness in the hope
that grace will stretch to new limits?
No. Let grace and truth live through us,
for Christ shattered vain constraints
with his final breath.
And the danger lies not in the sinner
who seeks forgiveness with a contrite heart,
but in those who live as if grace were forgotten,
those who grasp, tear, and wield the law
without mercy.
The throne awaits, ever-open,
welcoming those who come,
not to frustrate the grace of God,
but to taste its fullness
and know the freedom therein.
