Sunlight and Shadows #1131

Sunlight and Shadows In the whispers of Matthew, a warning rings clear: "Practice the words you preach," avoiding the veneer of actions hollow, where pretense can dwell, urging us to embody our truths, to live them well. Daily rituals of faith—prayer, scripture, and thought— intertwine with our being, in the lessons they've taught. This personal pilgrimage, quiet and devout, shapes a life that's sincere, inside and out. Centuries ago, under the wide, open sky, Diogenes, with a simple philosophy, did imply that all he wished from Alexander the Great was for him to step aside, to let the sunlight dictate. This man of power, with the world in his hands, admired the philosopher who shunned life's grand plans. For contentment, Diogenes showed, was not found in gold, but in enjoying the simple sunlight, bold and uncontrolled. These stories, both ancient and spiritually deep, remind us that our deeds are the promises we keep. From Diogenes' simplicity to the Gospel's call, the truest power lies in being authentic, after all. In living and acting with integrity's grace, we inspire, we influence, every time and place. Let us walk in the light of our own true path, where shadows fall behind, in the aftermath. Written by Steven G. Lee (May 2, 2024)
