Overcoming Temptation and Practicing Faithful Action #1250
Overcoming Temptation and Practicing Faithful Action
In the first light of dawn, a whisper floats—
Children understand the art of goodness,
Deeds untainted by shadows.
Yet age wearies resolve, dulls the edge of our knowing.
We sit, shrouded in the echo of words,
Sermons delivered, ears absorbing their weight,
But action remains untouched.
Change the way we hear,
Let movement be our guiding song.
Preachers walk among us, lives a testament,
Though their words falter, their actions sing,
A litany of faith made visible.
Paul, too, felt the tug-of-war,
His heart yearning for the divine,
Yet tethered by sin’s chains.
“Oh, what a miserable person I am!
Who will free me?” he cried.
The answer is ever the same:
Jesus Christ, our liberator.
Temptation weaves its silver lies—
What is offered is fleeting,
What is lost echoes in eternity.
Doors left ajar invite shadows,
Close them with strength and conviction.
True courage is a phoenix rising
From the ashes of failure,
Fueled by unwavering faith.
No temptation has claimed you alone,
Yet a promise remains—
A way out, a path to endure,
Offered by hands scarred with grace.
“Do not put the Lord to the test,”
But when fear and doubt whisper loudest,
Hold firm.
The world longs to drain us dry,
To steal spirit and marrow,
But stand firm in hope, armored in faith.
In the symphony of sin and salvation,
Our story is written not by despair,
But by the Divine, ever onward, ever upward.
