Mercy in the Twilight #1260

Mercy in the Twilight In the twilight of my spirit, I cry out to You, O LORD, for my soul is frail, and my body trembles with sorrow. My eyes are dimmed with tears as grief wraps its tendrils around my bones. Anguish consumes the hours, and the years are marked by groaning, their weight pressing down upon my shoulders. My strength ebbs like a river running dry, and my affliction wearies me, eroding the foundations until my bones grow brittle and weak. Where are the nine? Their voices fade like whispers on the wind, yet still I rise, searching for my own path, a flicker of hope guiding my way. Be gracious to me, O God, in Your unfathomable mercy. In the vastness of Your compassion, let my transgressions be washed away, each stain lifted like morning mist upon the waters. I am here, bowed low before You, seeking Your kindness, longing for Your hand to reach out and draw me back from the precipice. Your lovingkindness is the balm for my weary spirit, the light that pierces the shadows of my soul. In Your embrace, may I find solace and strength, and in Your forgiveness, the renewal of my broken spirit. Written by Steven G. Lee (May 10, 2024)
