In the Echo of Unity: A Prose Poem on Love's Indivisible Command #1171

In the Echo of Unity: A Prose Poem on Love's Indivisible Command In the whisper of morning, in the echo of ancient words, there arises a truth woven into the very fabric of our being—where one's heart beats, there too must beat the heart of another. From the dust of Genesis, where Cain stands defiant beneath an ageless sky, the question lingers: "Where is your brother Abel?" And in his reply, a denial, a fracture, we find our charge—yes, we are our brother's keeper, our sister's shield. Love intertwines, a double helix of divine command, spiraling down through the parables of Christ. The lost sheep, the lost coin, the lost son—each a testament not to the solitude of the lost, but to the unity of the searchers, the joy of the finders. This pursuit, relentless as the tides, speaks of a love that is not solitary but shared, casting a light that seeks to mend, to heal, to make whole. Here lies the Great Commandment, a beacon that does not distinguish between the love for One and the love for All. In the gospel of the wind, the trees, and the rivers, it echoes—love God, love others; they are not two but one. "LOVE FOR GOD AND FOR OTHER(S) ARE INSEPARABLE," it proclaims, a drumbeat to which every heart must sway. For in the loving and the caring, in the giving and the restoring, we find that "YOU CANNOT LOVE ONE UNLESS YOU LOVE BOTH." This unity, this inseparable weave of the individual and the collective, stands as the cornerstone of our journey. A call to arms, to hearts, to souls—to live not as islands but as bridges, spanning the chasms of our differences, reaching out with hands that heal, voices that comfort, spirits that unite. So let us walk this path where love merges, where the lost are found, and where every step we take is a step toward each other. For in this dance of the one and the many, we discover the true essence of all that is holy, all that is human. Written by Steven G. Lee (May 4, 2024)
