Breaking Free: Embracing a New Beginning #1225

Breaking Free: Embracing a New Beginning In the quiet shadows where sin whispers lies, Promising heaven while forging chains of hell, Locks are turned inward, trapping us deep, Prisoners believing we hold the key. The cunning deceit wraps us in fog, Blind to the chaos we leave in our wake, Chained to desires that make us fall— We weave our own shackles, we craft our own fate. Yet a voice pierces the darkness with light, A voice that calls across the valleys of despair: "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near," Breaking the chains that once bound us there. Be not hearers alone but doers of truth, The Word that can shatter the bonds of vice, And though we fall to the depths of despair, No pit is too deep to escape through Christ. We cannot reclaim the hours of the past, But today can be the start of something new— A path that leads us from ruin and loss, Where hope, peace, and faith stitch lives anew. The Gospel lights the path through the night, And God’s love calls us to break free, For sin may sketch a map to despair, But God's promise drafts salvation’s key. The time is fulfilled, the kingdom is near, Repent, believe, and embrace His grace, For though sin’s grip may shadow our hearts, We can all build a brighter place. Walk forth, brothers and sisters alike, Hand in hand and heart in heart, Breaking free from the chains of sin, Into the light of a brand new start Written by Steven G. Lee (May 7, 2024)
