Beneath the Ancient Sky: A Call to Gospel Truth #1136

Beneath the Ancient Sky: A Call to Gospel Truth Once upon an age, in lands both near and far, Voices rose with fervor, beneath the morning star. They spread the sacred word to all who’d hear the call, A message meant for one and all, the great and the small. Yet now it seems the voice narrows, seeking selective ears, Leaving behind the universal path, feeding into fears. But remember the Holy Spirit’s vital, unseen flame, Guiding the true essence of the gospel we proclaim. We are to live the words we preach, not merely echo sounds, For empty are the verses that in hypocrisy abound. Jesus’ stern rebuke still echoes through the ages, Warning those who preach but do not turn the pages. "So practice and observe," He taught, with wisdom clear and bright, "Do not mimic those who speak, but fail to cast the light." Let us then be the gospel, in word and deed unite, For only through such living does the truth shine ever bright. In every step, let the Spirit lead, and in each action show, The depth of faith, the call to love, this path on which we go. For in our hands lies the power to embody grace and truth, A beacon for the weary, a guidepost for the youth. Written by Steven G. Lee (May 2, 2024)
