Whispers of the True Self #263

Echoes of Authenticity: A Journey Beyond the Facade In the garden where appearances bloom, A whisper floats under the moon's gentle gloom. Grand facades and spectacles wide, Yet beneath them, the true self does hide. Tall ceremonies in their pride parade, While inner sanctums in silence fade. Lips worship, hearts distant, a silent plea, "Come closer to the essence, to what you can't see." The outward chase, a glistening veneer, Neglects the heart, leaving it austere. Jesus once mourned, with insight profound, "Hearts far from me, in empty worship bound." In pursuit of the glitter, the essence wanes, Our soul's quiet beauty, in shadow remains. This paradox profound, stark and clear, External quests leave the inner sphere in tear. Yet, let us journey, with heart and grace, Where authenticity finds its rightful place. Leading with humility, in love's embrace, Our inner depth flourishes, transcending the chase. So here's to a quest, where depth overshadows show, Cultivating within, letting the true self glow. A poem of life, of being's true essence, In authenticity's echo, we find our presence. -Written by Steven G. Lee (February 10, 2024)
