Reclaiming the Sacred: A Vision for the Temple #314
Reclaiming the Sacred: A Vision for the Temple
In sacred halls where prayers ascend,
A divine decree, on love to depend.
"My Temple," says the Lord, "shall be
A house of prayer for all to see."
Yet within these walls, where light should dwell,
A shadow creeps, a tale to tell.
Transformed, it seems, by human hands,
Into a den where darkness stands.
Not bricks and mortar, gold or thieves,
But hearts in prayer, the Spirit weaves.
A temple made not for commerce's call,
But for souls to rise, and fears to fall.
In this sacred space, a divine plea,
To reclaim what was meant to be.
A house of prayer, open and free,
A refuge for all, from sea to sea.
Let us then, with fervent zeal,
Restore the temple, its purpose reveal.
Not as a hideout for thieves to steal,
But a place where the broken can heal.
So may our actions reflect this vision,
A church alive, with divine precision.
A house of prayer, in true condition,
Fulfilling its holy, original mission.

“My Temple will be called a house of prayer.
But you are making it a hideout for thieves!"
(Matt 21:13; Mark 11:17; Luke 19:46)
