Harmony in Giving: Verses of the Golden Rule #378

Harmony in Giving: Verses of the Golden Rule In the city's heart, where dreams and dust collide, Beneath the giants of steel that in the sky reside, A whisper floats, a call to the wise, A plea for compassion that never dies. "Love those who oppose, give without end, To the stranger, the foe, extend your hand as a friend. Bless those who curse, pray for the one who harms, In the face of aggression, disarm with calm." For the one who begs, open your heart wide, Let generosity be your guide. The Golden Rule, our timeless creed, "Do unto others," let this be our deed. This is not of law's demand, but of the soul's plea, A call to rise, to set our better angels free. Beyond the grasp of rules and fees, Lies the realm of true empathy. Imagine a world where this truth reigns, Where kindness dissolves all chains. No license needed to show we care, For love's language is universal, rare. Let this poem be a lantern, bright and bold, Guiding us to act with courage, untold. To live by love's rule, in all our ways, Creating a world ablaze with grace's rays. In giving, we receive, in loving, we live, To our enemies, forgiveness we give. In this dance of giving and receiving, We find the essence of true believing. So let us walk this path, hand in hand, Spreading love across the land. For in each act of kindness, small or grand, We echo compassion, vast and unplanned. Written by Steven G.
