Echoes of Authenticity: A Journey Beyond the Facade #264

Echoes of Authenticity: A Journey Beyond the Facade In the garden of being, where appearances bloom bright, A paradox whispers in the hush of twilight. A facade grand, a spectacle wide, Yet beneath the surface, the true self might hide. Where glittering ceremonies stand tall and proud, The inner sanctuary silent, lost in the crowd. A worship of lips, not of heart's quiet plea, "Come closer," it echoes, "to what you can't see." For in the embrace of what's outward and seen, Lies the risk of neglecting the heart's quiet sheen. As Jesus once said, with sorrow and might, "These people, they honor me, but their hearts take flight." In vain they do worship, with lips but not heart, A path that leads nowhere, a hollowed-out art. The more that we chase what glitters and fades, The more our own essence in shadows cascades. The paradox of existence, profound and clear, As external pursuits grow, the soul sheds a tear. For the beauty of life, in truth, does reside, Not in the grandeur outside, but in what's inside. Let us then journey, with courage and grace, To a place where authenticity takes the foremost place. Where the heart leads the way, in humility and love, And our inner depth blossoms, pure as the dove. So here's to the quest, of depth over show, To cultivate within, and let the true self glow. A prose of life's essence, a poetry of being, In the paradox of appearance, the truth we're seeing. -Written by Steven G. Lee (February 10, 2024)
