Echoes of Equity: A Modern Invocation of Ancient Wisdom #232

Echoes of Equity: A Modern Invocation of Ancient Wisdom In twilight's grasp, where commerce shadows fall, Ancient whispers through the marketplace call. From scrolls of old, a parable's breath, Urging remembrance in the face of death. "Call forth the laborers, their wages bestow, From last unto first, as the scriptures show. So the last shall be first, with wages the same, The first shall be last, in this divine game." A jest to the ears, bound by profit's chain, Yet within, a truth, profound and plain. A world envisioned, where compassion's thread Weaves through business, lifting every head. Justice's scales, not by hours confined, But by the dignity in each soul we find. Acknowledging worth beyond mere toil, In unity's soil, we plant our spoils. This economy of heart, where value's seen Not in output, but in being keen To uplift the unseen, the last, the least, In their honor, hold a grand feast. Not a dreamer's vision, but a clarion call, To bring sacred words into every hall. Let divine principles our actions dictate, Creating sanctuaries, strong and great. For in abundance, disparity's stark, These ancient words, a guiding arc. To elevate all, from last to first, Fulfilling every soul's inherent thirst. A charge sacred, to our future we sow, An economy where compassion's rivers flow. Dispensing justice with an even hand, From the last unto the first, across the land. In this rebirth of spirit, purpose anew, Guided by scriptures, our path true. Towards a world where equity reigns, And ancient wisdom breaks all chains. -Written by Steven G. Lee (February 7, 2024)
