The Perils of Hypocrisy #1217
The Perils of Hypocrisy
In the hallowed echoes of ancient words,
a voice rises, clear and undiminished—
Jesus, speaking across the sands of time,
condemns the guardians of gatekept heavens.
"How terrible for you, hypocrites!"
He thunders to those cloaked in piety’s guise,
who lock the sacred doors with iron creeds,
and wear their sanctity like armor,
shielding hollow hearts.
These shepherds, who traverse seas and lands,
not in humble search of lost sheep,
but as hunters stalking noble game—
to them, a soul converted
is but a trophy mounted,
its true essence never captured,
only bound in the chains of stringent dogmas.
They manufacture converts,
doubling the weight of damnation,
not salvation—
a lineage of spiritual destitution,
birthed from their own unfaithful hands.
Beware the leaders laden with texts and tithes,
who preach from thrones built on the backs of the meek,
their sermons but echoes of an empty faith,
where love is preached but never practiced,
and gates to paradise,
once open wide and welcoming,
now narrow, choked by the weeds of hypocrisy.
Oh, ye seekers of the light,
look not towards these false idols,
for they peddle a counterfeit coin—
the currency of heaven is love,
untarnished, pure, and free.
Jesus calls—heed not the barred gates,
for each heart holds a key,
forged in the fires of genuine grace,
and with it, every soul may enter,
where true shepherds dare not tread.
