A Tapestry of Divine Threads #1198

A Tapestry of Divine Threads In this world, the greatest peril hides Not in shadows or mysteries wide, But in actions stripped of grace and care, Where souls do much or nothing, unaware. Salvation's song, a melody of grace, "By faith through grace," a divine embrace. Not ours to earn, not forged by deeds, A gift from high, on which no ego feeds. Yet faith alone, without works, lies still, Like a spiritless form, a hollow shell. James declares, "Faith without works is dead," A truth profound, on which we must tread. For faith to live, to breathe, to stand, It must move our hearts, stir our hands. Works and faith, in dance entwined, Justify each other, together defined. Beware the serpent’s crafty lie: "Good deeds alone will let you by." This is not the path, not the way— Grace, faith, works, together lay. In this journey, let each thread weave, Into a life of faith we live and believe. Grace, faith, works—divinely spun, A tapestry radiant as the sun. Written by Steven G. Lee (May 6, 2024)
