Transcending Prejudice: A Call to Faithful Action #181

Transcending Prejudice: A Call to Faithful Action In whispers of faith, yet clutched by unseen chains, Prejudices held tight, through the sacred texts' refrains. Eyes that see, ears that hear, minds closed tight, Through biased lenses, they lose the true light. Words of the Bible, in their hands do rest, Yet deeper meaning, fails the heart's test. A superficial dance of script and verse, Action unborne, their faith's curse. A profound ailment, this disconnect reveals, God's will untouched, their conscience feels. A struggle within, against self-deceit's grain, Repentance and discipline, the only lane. In solitude's mirror, the truth must face, Against self-gratification, a vigilant race. Illusions of evil, a web finely spun, Without inner watch, easily undone. This spiritual malady, a barrier profound, In Jesus's words, His presence is found. Not hidden in text, but vividly shown, A heart closed off, His love unknown. Jesus in Scripture, a presence so clear, Ignoring His call, the greatest fear. Called to emulate, in His likeness to grow, Faith into action, His teachings to show. In living action, His essence reflected, A path from prejudice, through faith detected. Transforming belief, into deeds that embrace, The light of Christ, in this human race. -Written by Steven G. Lee (February 2, 2024)
