Deeds of Faith: A Gospel Lived #287

Deeds of Faith: A Gospel Lived In faith's faintest glimmer, a call softly rings, To live out Christ's gospel, a path it brings. A light revealing, God's intention clear, Where shadows of discord and sin appear. Choices made in haste, harmony undone, Sins against nature, by actions begun. Yet, through repentance's door, we find a way, With gospel and faith, our fears to allay. The Holy Spirit guides, our flaws to see, Restoring our essence, from sin to flee. Words hold their meaning, sacred and deep, But in our deeds, their true promise we keep. While words spread wide, in books they reside, Christ's actions spoke louder, with arms open wide. Words alone, he showed, could never suffice (John 20:25), By his deeds, he taught us, the ultimate price. To follow His path, our actions must speak, The gospel's truth, through our deeds, we seek. For faith, if silent, in shadows it stays, But alive in our works, it brightens our days. "Faith without works is dead," so it's penned (James 2:14-26), A reminder that faith and action blend. In every gesture, in each act of care, The gospel's truth, boldly we declare. -Written by Steven G. Lee (February 12, 2024)
