Echoes of Reform: Paths of Faith Reimagined #858
Echoes of Reform: Paths of Faith Reimagined
(Faith's Dual Path: The Reformation's Legacy and Today's Quest)
In epochs past, under God's vast sky,
Two souls arose, their spirits high.
Martin Luther, with his theses flair,
John Calvin, with a stern, reformer's stare.
From German soil, Luther's voice did rise,
Against the church, its wealth, and lies.
With faith alone, he boldly claimed,
A path to salvation, purely framed.
Scripture's truth, over tradition's grip,
Each believer's heart, a priesthood ship.
In the empire's heart, his words did find,
A nation's spirit, and princes kind.
Meanwhile, Calvin, in Geneva's bounds,
A different drum, his heart resounds.
Predestination, God's sovereign plan,
Moral living, for every woman and man.
His governance, a city-state dream,
Where civic and divine, in harmony seem.
A model for all, his legacy's claim,
A church organized, in Jesus' name.
Between these giants, differences lay,
In how they saw God's way.
Luther's heart, with individual's light,
Calvin's order, society's might.
Yet in today's quest, their paths converge,
As modern reformers, on the brink, emerge.
Inclusivity, dialogue's embrace,
Justice, technology, and nature's grace.
As we walk forward, in their footsteps tread,
Their lessons and love, our daily bread.
Faith's dual path, through history's test,
Guides us now, in our own quest.
