Covenant of the Sojourners #1048

Covenant of the Sojourners In the whispers of Leviticus, a truth unfolds— "The land shall not be sold forever, for the land is mine," God declares, reminding us that we are merely wanderers, Sojourners of a sacred earth that owns us in turn. Beneath our feet, the soils sing of stewardship, The skies, too vast to claim, embrace us with open winds. And Jesus, with his heart open as the heavens, asks, "Who are my mother and brothers?" Pointing beyond blood to the bonds formed in following the divine will. In His eyes, family is redefined— Not by lineage, but by the lineage of the spirit, A family knit by the threads of obedience and unity. Here, we gather, not as owners but as guardians, Caretakers of a legacy not written in deeds but in deeds done. In reverence, we live; in humility, we walk. The earth, the sky—our cherished inheritance, Not to possess, but to love and to protect. So let us join hands, hearts aligned under the canopy of creation, Building a community that honors this sacred trust. Together, nurturing a world that mirrors our respect, A testament to the unity and care we owe to each other and to the divine grace that binds us all. Written by Steven G. Lee (April 27, 2024)
