Two Testaments: A Poetic Exploration #1072
Two Testaments: A Poetic Exploration
In the hallowed scrolls of ancient lore,
Echoes of a single, sovereign core:
Both Testaments, old and new, attest,
In monotheism, they find their rest.
Abraham, Moses, figures revered,
Through time's vast corridor, they've appeared.
Echoing tales of divine commands,
Uniting epochs with invisible hands.
From Sinai's peak to Calvary's rise,
Threads of salvation weave the skies.
Love and justice, themes profound,
In both scriptures, tightly wound.
Ethics sown in ancient sands,
Bloom in Christ's far-reaching lands.
Yet amidst these shared divine traces,
Lies a chasm filled with varied graces.
The Old encased in covenant stone,
Laws and rituals firmly sown.
While the New, in grace does bask,
Salvation found in faith's bold ask.
Messiah, once a king to be,
Now a shepherd, setting spirits free.
Not by sword or earthly might,
But through love's eternal, radiant light.
The Old speaks to a chosen few,
The New calls all, to renew.
Reasons deep as time itself,
From dusty scrolls to the topmost shelf.
Continuity, a bridge of sighs,
Fulfillment’s banner, boldly flies.
Cultural tides and historical streams,
Shape their words, their hopes, their dreams.
Through conflicts, contrasts, and divine decree,
From promised land to Galilee,
These texts unfold the heart’s pure plea:
A tale not of discord, but of unity.
A progression from law to grace,
A journey seen in every face.
For in each line and sacred verse,
Lies the universe, vast and diverse.
A narrative of faith's embrace,
From creation’s dawn to grace’s face.
Old and New, distinct yet together,
A testament to love, which changes never.
