A Symphony of Sincerity #895

A Symphony of Sincerity In the shadow of the spire that touches sky, Where voices blend in holy refrain, And the sacred Word unfolds, We stand—bearers of Calvin's whisper, Guardians of Knox's firm resolve. Here, in the quiet sanctum of our faith, Where hymns float gently through the air, We seek not spectacle but the echo of divinity— Music, the servant; Scripture, the sovereign. Sing with simplicity, with purity of heart, Notes clear as the streams from mountains part. Let melodies bind us in shared devotion, For in simplicity, our souls find the profound. Beware the siren of the spectacle, That turns our sacred worship into mere theatre. Seek instead the sacred silence between chords, The holy pause where spirits speak. Our songs are stones, laid upon the foundation Of Scripture's steadfast, age-old proclamation. Musicians, stewards of this divine interaction, Lead us not to performance, but to presence. Teach us the why, as we practice the how, In dialogues of devotion that deepen our vow. Let us hear the heartbeat of our gathered kin, Reflecting, refining, forever bound in Him. So we commit to this symphony of sincerity, Where God's voice is the crescendo, our humble litany. Here, in reverence and harmony, our spirits soar, Bound yet boundless, within His love evermore. In Christ’s enduring love and service, Pastor Steven G. Lee (April 13, 2024)
