Echoes of Understanding: A Journey Towards Justice #806
Echoes of Understanding: A Journey Towards Justice
In the heart of our shared history, a silent plea,
For understanding, empathy, a world we long to see.
Reflect we must on Indigenous tales,
Their resilience, their sorrow, on vast scales.
Education, our torch in the night,
Shining on truths, long out of sight.
Let’s learn from the past, its shadow and light,
Embrace every story, make the future bright.
Acknowledgment, a step towards healing’s embrace,
Paired with action, not just a saving face.
Treaty rights, land restored, a rightful space,
For communities to flourish, in dignity's grace.
Hear the voices that history tried to erase,
Sovereign and strong, they claim their place.
In discussions of future, culture, and race,
Indigenous wisdom, we must encase.
Reparative deeds, a path we pave,
From the brink of loss, the near miss save.
Cultural preservation, traditions brave,
A legacy for the young we crave.
Partnerships built on equity’s ground,
Where respect and justice abound.
Together we seek what must be found,
A future where all can be unbound.
This journey of reflection, of learning and light,
Confronts the past, battles the night.
With courage and humility, we might,
Craft a world of justice, bright.
Let’s engage, let’s discuss, let’s invite,
Each voice to the table, every plight.
For in unity, we find our might,
In the shared dream of a future right.
So here’s a call, a plea, an invite,
To journey together, for what is right.
In the history's mirror, let’s catch the light,
And build a future, just and bright.
