Echoes of Resilience: A Poem of Preparedness and Strength #803 (04/18/'42) -SF earthquake 1906
Echoes of Resilience: A Poem of Preparedness and Strength
(Whispers from the Ashes: An Ode to Resilience and Preparedness)
In the silent embrace of predawn's whisper,
San Francisco danced with the earth's deep quiver.
A waltz of destruction, a somber lesson learned,
In the rubble's truths, our resilience burned.
From ashes and sorrow, a clarion call,
To build, to protect, to prevent our fall.
Not just to endure, but in wisdom, evolve,
With foresight, our cities' defenses resolve.
Our testament stands in the ruins reborn,
Sanctuaries crafted, defiance sworn.
Edicts of our era, clear and profound,
In preparedness, our future's foundation is found.
Buildings, not mere structures, but bastions strong,
Streets, lifelines that to recovery belong.
Inheritance of resolve, on preparedness built,
Safety of tomorrow, free from guilt.
Guardians of the morrow, with whispers heed,
From 1906's echoes, our actions lead.
Beam fortified, brick with caution laid,
Against earth's caprice, our defiance displayed.
In the community's communion, our stronghold found,
Facing trembling grounds, our spirits unbound.
Architects of fate, shaping with wisdom's light,
Preparation, our essence, against the night.
This journey, not of chance, but fate's design,
Guided by lessons of the old, a promise divine.
We shall rise, prepare, in unity endure,
A poetic ode to resilience, forever sure.
Let these words touch souls, spread far and wide,
A testament to readiness, in each stride.
For in whispers from the ashes, our legacy sings,
An ode to resilience, and the hope it brings.
