Echoes of Resilience #762
Echoes of Resilience
(Whispers to Howls: A Journey from Abundance to Awakening)
In the aftermath of war, America's streets unfurled,
A land of plenty, where dreams were not deferred.
But as decades turned, the 80s harshly curled,
Into a crisis, silent whispers now heard.
Deinstitutionalized souls wandered, lost,
Noble intentions, but at what cost?
Reagan's axe fell, social supports tossed,
Affordable homes in budget cuts, frost.
Factories fell silent, progress's cruel jest,
Workers stood in ruins, once deemed the best.
Single mothers braved the storm, no time to rest,
Divorce's tide pulled, putting love to the test.
Addiction whispered, a false seductive song,
Leading many astray, into shadows long.
Yet from despair, a beacon strong,
Calls for unity, to right the wrong.
Mental health—a lifeline thrown,
Substance shadows—by light overthrown.
Homes for all, a dream re-sewn,
Streets no longer claim their own.
This call to arms, for empathy’s embrace,
A world where homelessness finds no space.
Job training, safety nets, in steady pace,
Weave a future, humanity’s grace.
Together we stand, a legion of light,
Turning narratives into flights so bright.
No more doors closed, no soul in plight,
In our collective heart, hope shines outright.
Let this be our vow, our solemn song,
A world reborn, where all belong.
"Whispers to Howls," our journey long,
From abundance to awakening, together strong.
