Echoes of the Eternal: A Call to the Heart #824

Echoes of the Eternal: A Call to the Heart In the quiet, a whisper stirs, Echoes of ancient truths unfurl. Values deep within the soul's reserves, Where true essence swirls and twirls. Not in coins' clink or offerings grand, Laid on altars of human hands. But in the prayer, the heart's demand, Where the spirit understands. Marketplaces of desires, rampant, Where prayer's currency was meant. Jesus' words, sharp, adamant, A house of prayer, now a lament. The Lord God questions, voice booming, "Who asked for rituals, presuming?" Feasts and prayers, insincerely blooming, Empty, devoid, sin consuming. A call to authenticity rings, Above superficial offerings. First things first, the soul sings, In divine connection, it clings. On hallowed ground, we tread softly, For the eternal, eyes aloft, see. A quest for worship, true and lofty, Where the soul, in longing, finds its key. Written by Steven G. Lee (April 9, 2024)
