Cycles of Shadows #2121

Cycles of Shadows In the heart of time’s relentless flow, Where shadows dance and spirits go, Evil, once cast out, returns anew, A cycle repeating, as dawn’s first dew. When the house is swept and garnished clean, An empty space for darkness keen, The spirit roams and finds its kin, Returning stronger, to dwell within. So, it is with this age, forlorn, A generation lost, reborn In cycles of the past’s dark reign, Where history's progress yields only pain. Pride and power rise to throne, A master’s rule, cold as stone, Valuing strength, dismissing grace, Empathy fades in this harsh embrace. Kindness whispers, humility weeps, In shadows where the master keeps A reign that scorns the gentle heart, Where power and pride stand apart. Yet in this cycle, hope may lie, For those who seek with humble eye, A different path, a way unseen, Where love and light can intervene. For every dawn that shadows chase, A spark of hope, a glimpse of grace, To break the cycle, to mend the fall, And heed the call of a higher call. So, let us seek beyond the pride, To where true strength and love reside, In hearts that shine with humble light, Breaking the cycle, ending the night. -Steven G. Lee (July 1, 2024)
