A Faith Lived Out #2109

A Faith Lived Out In a world of endless knowing, Where knowledge fills the mind, Faith's true essence, ever glowing, Must in action be defined. Christian hearts, so full of thought, Can be empty, void of deeds. For a gospel left unfought, Cannot heal the world’s deep needs. More than just a creed to ponder, Christ's call is bold and clear. Not just thoughts to sit and wander, But to act, to serve, to cheer. Idle learning breeds a danger, Greater than a virus' sting. For in hearts where love's a stranger, Faith is but an idle thing. Look to Jesus, in His living, Healing, feeding, loving all. He showed faith is in the giving, Answering the needy’s call. Knowledge must in deeds be woven, Head and hand in holy dance. Faith and works, a truth unspoken, Granting every soul a chance. So let’s move beyond our knowing, Step into the world in need. With our faith and love both showing, In every act, in every seed. For in living out our calling, We reflect the Savior’s grace. Every time we catch one falling, We bring light to darkened space. May our lives be true reflections, Of the gospel we proclaim. In our deeds and our affections, Living boldly in His name. -Steven G. Lee (July 1, 2024)
