NO CIVILIZATION SURVIVES THE DEATH OF ITS CHILDREN

NO CIVILIZATION SURVIVES THE DEATH OF ITS CHILDREN

Every generation inherits a choice that will determine the character of its civilization. We may invest our greatest resources in weapons, economies, technologies, and political power, believing these will secure our future. Yet history tells a different story. No nation has ever preserved its future by destroying the generation destined to inherit it.

Children are not merely the youngest members of society. They are humanity's living covenant with tomorrow. Within every child rests untold wisdom, unseen compassion, undiscovered beauty, and possibilities that belong not only to one nation but to the whole human family. When children become victims of war, hatred, demographic engineering, exploitation, or indifference, the loss extends far beyond a battlefield or a generation. Humanity itself becomes poorer.

The measure of civilization has never been the reach of its military power or the brilliance of its inventions. Its true measure is found in how it protects those who possess the least power to protect themselves. A civilization that sacrifices its children for victory, ideology, fear, or political ambition dismantles the very moral foundation upon which its future depends.

Scripture reminds us that when Pharaoh feared the growing children of Israel, he sought to destroy the future before it could arrive. Yet God's answer was not greater violence but the preservation of a single child through whom an entire people would find deliverance. The cross reveals this truth even more profoundly. God did not preserve His kingdom by sacrificing children. He gave Himself so that others might live.

Our world now possesses unprecedented power to calculate destruction with astonishing precision. Yet no technology can calculate the value of a single child's future. No military strategy can measure the dreams never lived, the discoveries never made, the families never formed, or the acts of mercy never given because a child was lost.

Every child bears the image of God before bearing the name of a nation. Every child is our neighbor before becoming our citizen. Every child entrusted to humanity becomes a shared responsibility of humanity.

The future of civilization will not ultimately be written by those who mastered the science of war, but by those who defended the sanctity of life. The greatest victories are not those won on battlefields, but those won whenever the innocent are protected, the vulnerable are embrac
ed, and children are allowed to become the future they were created to be.

No civilization survives the death of its children, because wherever the innocent cease to be sacred, civilization itself begins to disappear.
