Abandoned Yet Forgiven #2116
Abandoned Yet Forgiven
My God, My God, why did You abandon me?
A cry that pierced the heavens, echoed through the ages.
On that rugged cross, left to suffer alone,
In the landscape of life, where abandonment reigns.
God left Him to bear the weight, to feel the sting of isolation,
For in abandonment lies the essence of our human plight.
Yet through this desolation, a path to forgiveness shines,
Painful and profound, until we are free of hurt.
Forgiveness, a choice in action, a balm for the wounded soul,
Yet no wonder, we falter, making terrible choices,
To avoid the ghost of abandonment, to shield our fragile hearts.
People, in their fear, abandon those who stumble,
Seeing them as proof of guilt, turning away in judgment.
But in the cry, "My God, My God," a deeper truth unfolds,
A testament to suffering, to the price of divine love.
In abandonment, He found the strength to forgive,
Teaching us that through our pain, forgiveness can arise.
So let us not abandon, let us not judge in haste,
But embrace the call to forgive, to heal the wounds of life.
For in the footsteps of the One who was abandoned yet forgave,
We find the power to transform, to love, and to be free.
