"Journey Beyond Earthly Means" #28

"Journey Beyond Earthly Means" To reach the waters, one needs a boat, To soar the skies, a plane to float, For lands afar, a car's embrace, But what if none are in your space? No boat to sail, no wings to glide, No car to roam the countryside, When all these means are out of sight, Must one then walk into the night? And if your feet, too, are amiss, How shall you journey through this bliss? With riches, can one chart the way? Or in a chair, just roll and sway? Fear not, for heaven's path is clear: No worldly vessel can steer near. Upon the cross, scorned and reviled, A man, as refuse, was compiled. Embrace the human Christ, your guide, On roads where God's grace does abide. Cast worries, strife, and judgment's weight Into the world's forsaken state. Like night owls hunting with keen sight, Heaven's gates open to the light. Is this not Christ's own truth, so bright? "Follow me," He calls, "deny your core, For life is found in losing more. Why call me Lord and walk astray? In deeds, not words, find the true way." (Mt 16:24-25, Lk 6:46) -Written Steven G. Lee (December 27, 2023)
