Divine Interplay: Elements and Grace #25

Fire and Water, Earth and Sky Fire descends from heaven's height, To earth below, a blazing light. Yet, from the earth, flames aspire, Man with fire, his daring pyre. Water flows from peaks so high, To valleys deep, under the sky. Yet, upwards too, it finds its way, In human hands, it comes to play. A Woman, a Child, and Divinity A woman and a man unite, Birth of a child, a common sight. But when a woman, touched by God, Brings forth a life, it's oddly odd. Is this beyond our common ken? Who crafted these rules for women and men? If Mary's child, a mere affair, Fits our sense, fair and square. Trust in sense, so implicitly, Yet, extraordinary paths set us free. The Wisdom of the Divine 1 Corinthians speaks, do you hear? God's choice, the world's foolish fear. The weak, the scorned, the lowly band, To shame the strong, by His command. Through wisdom, knowledge, all we gauge, Common sense, our worldly stage. Yet in this law, a spirit dwells, A truth that in eternity swells. Pity for sin, forgiveness spread, Grace bestowed, the law's true thread. Even if laws to dust decay, This divine mandate forever will stay. The Message of the Cross In 1 Corinthians, the truth is sown, The humble raised, by God alone. Jesus’ life, His message clear, Mercy's grace, in Him appear. Strength and wisdom, not as we deem, But in Christ's cross, a redeeming theme. -Written by Steven G. Lee (December 24, 2025)
